This is a Stand Alone Lead Poisoning Prevention Training* designed to define the problem of lead poisoning; identify steps to inspect for lead and reduce lead exposure for young children. Students will learn how to share information with families and encourage parents to test children for lead.

*Lead poisoning prevention training is required for child care licenses issued on or after July 1, 2020. The eight-hour Preventive Health and Safety class now includes lead poisoning prevention (LPP) to meet the new requirements in law. 


*Child care providers who took the eight-hour Preventive Health and Safety class before July 1, 2020 but are applying for their license after July 1, 2020 are allowed to take LPP prevention training as a separate, stand-alone class.


EMSA STATEMENT:

Lead Poisoning Prevention training is fully incorporated into Preventative Health and Safety Training. The authorization for single-subject, stand-alone LPP training expired after March 31, 2022.
